REVISION DOCS

Please don't be ill with me for asking again but I am desperately trying to find a revision doc in GA. My bariatric option is running out June 30, 2005 because the state is not picking it up again. I went to Dr. Burrowes but he wants $6,000.00 up front. Is there anyone else????

If your insurance is covering it-why would Dr. B demand money up front?!?!

Because it is a REVISION and he said he didn't know what he would be "running in to". He just told me that yesterday and I am devastated.

I didn't follow the earlier revision post...do you need a revision because you gained most of your weight back...or you are having other troubles? Can you take a home loan out? Will you get the $6K back after the surgery? That's robbery if you ask me... Good luck!!! Sherry

I went to a group information session with Dr. Appel and Dr. Steinburg on Thursday and Dr. Appel mentioned (in passing) that he does revisions and surgeries on patients other doctors won't take. Try giving them a call. I have BCBS GA POS and they are in-network for me. Emory does revisions. My wife, Julie, had a VBG in Nov. 2000. She's having the problems typical of a VBG. She will be having a revision from a VBG to a RNY on April 18 with Dr. Lin at Emory. Her surgery will be at Emory's Crawford Long Hospital. I believe Dr. Daniel Smith and others may also do revisions at Emory. We have had a few meetings with Dr. Lin and are very happy with him. i had a revision in august by bruce ramashaw at emoury he is aewsome but he left in decemeber but emory haas several docs that do revisions and they are awesome i didnt have to pay anything upfront all i ahd to pay is 15.00 for the surgery i really dont see why he would be charging you for the what ifs the surgery was only around 15000.00 so thats alot ontop of insurance i would call emory and good luck
