What would you do?

Hi Everyone, I have a question. My surgeon wanted me to have a phone consult with a Dietitian... they told me this woman would call me by the end of last week. Well, last week came and went, and finally late this past Wednesday she called. Well, I had strep throat and was running a 103 temp. when I answered the phone (so I sounded a little crappy) but the dietitian was SO RUDE to me! She kept cutting me off telling me she would call back when I was sounding better (like she had ESP and would just automatically know when I was sounding better) and I kept begging her on the phone not to hang up because I had been waiting a week and a half for her call... well before I could even fit anything else in she promptly told me she would call back tomorrow and HUNG UP ON ME! I sat there mad (and cried) because she is my FINAL step before they submit me to my insurance and she is holding this train up! Thursday came and so did Friday... and the (insert choice words here) Dietitian has not called back. I called my surgeons office to ask about her and they told me she went home early. My question is: Has anyone else had something like this happen to them (poor phone service from a professional)? Also, should I file a complaint on her? And if yes, when? I am still really mad at the way she raised her voice to me after I was politely asking her to please do the phone consult. I just don't know what to do about this because I am so scared that if I **** off someone in this process that my files could get "lost" or something like that. Am I over reacting? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. THANKS! Kathy

Wow she was a total bi*ch, pardon my language! I would find out if she has a supervisor and report her, and I would also notify your doc/anyone *****fers her for consult. Then I would promptly find another dietician!

Hey Kathy.. Ummm that sounds typical when you are trying to get things done..but have to encounter someone like "her" I didnt know you could get a consult over the phone w/ a dietician..I had to go see her myself..which I think everyone else has to do usually..I wouldnt let that get me down..although thats easy to say..I had an appointment with a pulmonary doctor to get a clearance for surgery..and when I went there..which was wayyyy out of my way..paid my co-pay..sat there for several hours..plus the doctors had interns with him..(embarrasing)..come to find out the breathing machine was broken...and they were like..OH you just need to come back another day..I was like HUH..(took off work for this) I was IRATE..and they were looking at me like..what is wrong...I said..look I have a job..I just cant come back like its not going to be a problem..they were like well..the machine is down..I wanted to cry also...but I had an appointment the following Monday..and told them I am going to be at South Fulton Medical..so they best find a way for me to take the test there..eventually they did...ended up taking the test there..but getting the doctor who sent me there to finally write me a clearance for surgery was Hell also..called to ask them if they got back my results..and the fax machine was broken!!!!!! ok..Pissed again..I asked them how do you run an office without a fax machine..umm dead silence..didnt get an answer...finally got my clearence two weeks after testing..and got scheduled for surgery (04/01) I am sure they were happy to get me out of thier hair..but damn..I needed to get it done..and they were not to much help..so I understand how you feel!! Gosh please don't tell me it was Rachael @ Dr. Hart's office??? I to had a phone consult (which was better for me ) BUT she was NOT the nicest person to me either. I could not wait to get her over and done with, guess she thinks she's better cuz she was already nice and slim w/o having surgery!! I have NOT been back to see yet either and i was supposed to.....NO THANKS, i'll figure this nutrition stuff out myself if i have to deal w/ people like her, cuz she almost got her little a** cussed out!!!
