Jitters with insurance!!

My case has been in the hands of insurance for a whole whopping 7 days. I called this morning to check on things (make sure they have everything) and they said "It's being reviewed currently." They told me this can take a week--or a month. I knew this---but man, I didn't realize just how jittery I would be at this stage!! The waiting is sooo hard!!! I can't imagine how I'll manage if I am approved and waiting on a surgery date!!!! I'll have to stay REALLY busy or go nuts, one! LOL I know there are some of you who had really long insurance waits--and I'm wondering how you coped. Any advice?! If I have to wait a full 30 days or more, I just might worry my weight off. (yeah, right! LOL) Actually, I'll have to watch it or I'll eat my way right into another 10 pounds---and that WON'T make my surgeon happy. Michelle

Dear Happy Camper Your inlaws must be gone since you are able to post. Everything (even the waiting) will be downhill after this visit. Everytime you get anxious just think about them "dropping in again" (not funny huh....)I believe that everything happens when it is supposed to. Don't be in too much of a hurry...this time will help you mentally be prepared for the surgery when it is approved. Not to mention time to get your house clean and in order. (Not funny either....)I am glad you are so happy and positive. I seem to still be in the "worring if this is the right thing to do mode" I will be checking tomorrow when I can to see what you have posted about D'Lynn. I will be anxious to talk to you when you get home!

I know exactly how you feel. I also have Dr. Hart and my papers have been sent to the insurance. I keep hoping everyday that I will get a call and get the news that I have been approved. I wish you lots of luck and hope you get approval soon!!

I am at 2nd level appeal, my papers were submitted for the 2nd level appeal 2-18-05 & found out last week that they were reviewed by the board, then the next day UPS dropped off a overnight letter from Cigna saying that it was going now before the committee on 3-29-04 @2:00p.m. I have a choice to call & be on a teleconference with them while my case is being decided. That way i have a chance to tell them exactly how I feel & all........ my medical conditions, so I will make the call next Tuesday @2:00. This is my last appeal so everyone PLEASE pray I get approved. If not they say I have to wait 1 year & start the process all over again. I wish all of you that are waiting on approval that it don't take you as long as it did me. Good luck to all!!! Tammy Gunter

Hugs, Michelle, For me, the waiting was the worst part! I think it's good progress that your paper work is currently being reviewed. Oh, yeah! There were several months that I thought my paperwork was being reviewed, and it wasn't there yet. Ignorance is not bliss when you're waiting. LOL Just so you know...we are all here waiting with you, Friend!!! We want to know as soon as you hear anything! Becky

I understand how you feel --my has been sent also-- was sent on 03/17/05 -- I called the insurance co. today and the young lady told me that they have recieved it but that is the last note that she sees -- so I will pray for you and your approval and you pray for me and mine like wise -- Until we are approved let's just pray and trust that God knows what is best for us and he will release our blessing to get healthy -- take care --- Nessa J
