This morning I was awoken by the phone to be informed that my 8 week old nephew, Benjamin Livingston, is about to be airlifted to Egleston Childrens Hospital. He is suffering from Renal failure and from and enlarged heart. We were told they are not even sure if the little fellow will survive the trip. Please pray that the Lord will heal his sick body.. I do appreciate all your prayers and thoughts. I am getting ready now to leave for Atlanta, so please let the roads be clear as I am not thinking too clearly myself at this point. Thanks, Patrice Rogers

Update... We are still here at Egleston... Benjamin is in critical condition. They have started dialysis on him and have taken him to have a tube put in his side straight to his kidney's... He still has no kidney function so they are going to manually go in and try to remove the fluid. I ask that he remains in your prayers and that in time we will begin to see a big improvement. Thank you all for all your prayers. Benjamin and his family are thankful for each prayer that is lifted for him. Take care my friends till I can make it back for another update. Patrice Rogers

Patrice, how awful for your family to have to go through this...especially Benjamin. I have a 2.5 yr. old granddaughter. Can't fathom what it would be like to have her be in such a condition. Certainly I will pray for his full recovery. I just wish you all the best. Was this something sudden or does he have medical problems already? Keep us posted.

Ms. Joyce, We found out the last couple of months of her pregnancy that Benjamin would have one kidney that was covered in what they thought was a tumor. They already said this kidney was not working that it was retaining fluid. When he was born we were told that as long as the other kidney would function that they would wait till he was older to take the right one out. He came down with some type of virus(roto) when he was 6 weeks old that they tend to think sent some stress to his left kidney causing his potassium levels to soar, thus sending him into distress. Funny thing about it was that it was 2 weeks later before it did this. I don't blame the Medical Center in Macon for not noticing this but they are aware that he does have kidney problems to begin with. NOw he we are in Atlanta at Egleston sitting and praying that the Lord will give the Doctors the knowledge to treat him accordingly. Today is going to be another tough day for us just sitting and waiting for the Doctors to decide if he is stable enough to begin any testing on him. It is our faith in the Lord and the prayers of our friends and family that is going to sustain us through this all. Thanks for all of concern and thoughts. Patrice Rogers
