I just recieved a letter in the mail from EDMC that states I need to have my responsible part of 2900 on Thurs when I go for my pre-op...It says you can make payment arrangements. Before I call them tomorrow and beg for payments, has anyone else encountered this with them and if so, how much did they take up front? Help...surgery is next Tuesday and I need to work on getting the money by Thursday this week if they wont let me make a small down payment. D'Lynn

Hi D'Lynn, I went to Emory Dunwoody, which I loved, btw. My out of pocket that was due at pre-op was $250.00 and I believe that was for the anesthesiologist. I think you could call them and ask. I had to pre-register on the phone before the pre-op day. If I'm not mistaken they told me on the phone. Also the finance person at my surgeon's office had told me before I went. Try both of these people. Hope this helps. Joyce

Hey, Girl! Uh---I haven't heard of this prepayment that they obviously expect. Good Heavens, let me know what you find out, please! If you have to pay that up front, chances are I do too---same Ins, you know! I'll have to start looking under sofa cushions for lost change! haha In face, I may have to start visiting neighbors and checking under THEIR sofa cushions!!!! Hugs! Michelle

Hi D'Lynn, I have just completed my testing with Dr. Hart at Emory Dunwoody. I have BCBS HMO, and I think I have a $200 copay for hospital admissions. I hope that is true anyway. Just wanted to ask that you let me know how it goes with you, and I will be keeping you in my prayers. I plan to go eat with Laura in Conyers Saturday night, (if they allow new comers!) hope you can join us. It will be fun. We can compare notes. Good luck! Karen

I can't help you on this one D'Lynn... As and HCA employee, and ED being an HCA hospital, I didn't have to pay them anything. I did have to pay my surgeon nearly $1500. Check with your insurance comapny and make sure of their policies. Don't you hate it when you find these things out at the last moment!!!!! Susan Lap RNY 12-1-04 285-221-155 (-64)

D'Lynn, What did you find out from EDMC today? Is it required that you pay the money upfront? Also, Has Dr. Hart sent you a price that you will have to pay him upfront also? Hate to be so inquisitive but you know me..... Enquiring minds need to know.... I don't like to be in for any surprises. Patrice
