Costly Nutritionist Fee!! BCBS-HMO
My PCP referred me to a nutritionist at Southern Regional in Riverdale for my assessment. However, when I made the appointment I was told that I would have to pay $270.00 for the class and assessment. I told her that I was being referred and should not have to pay that much. Have anyone else had to pay such an extravagant fee for this service? Just need to know if I should make an appointment with another nutritionist.
Phyllis,
I have BCBS HMO and I am using Dr. Hart. He has a dietician at his office who I have to pay $50 per visit. I have been to her one time, and have to go back in 3 weeks. I can't believe you are having to pay that much over the co-pay. I hope you can find someone else. Keep looking, there has to be someone cheaper than that. Good luck!

HI,
MY DR. IS DR. PROCTOR IN GAINSVILLE. THE ONLY MONEY I PAID FOR ANYTHING WAS $200.00 CO -PAY TO THE HOSPITAL. ALL OTHER THINGS I HAD TO DO WERE FIGURED IN HIS TOTALLED COST. MY BCBS/HMO/BLUECHOICE PAID EVERYTHING EXCEPT THE $200.00 COPAY FOR HOSPITAL. I WOULD CALL AROUND, MAYBE A DIFFERNT DR WOULD BE A GOOD CHOICE ? DR. PROCTOR INCLUDES EVERTHING (PSY,DIETIACIAN,ETC.)IN ONE PRICE, AND INSURANCE PAYS THAT WAY.
I HOPE THIS HELPS,
RUTHMICHEL
