Probably a Dumb Question!
I've noticed that most everyone puts their protein powder in a shake. I'm not that fond of sweet drinks, so is there a powder that can be mixed with something like apple sauce or oatmeal? I'm also wondering if you can use something besides milk, as it gives me problems. Has anyone ever mixed the powder with a jar of strained fruit like baby food? Seems like the closer I get to my date, the more nervous I get. Is that normal, or am I just a dumbo?

I've been told that adding protein to your foods is VERY normal - and encouraged (at least by my doctor and nutritionist!) If you can find a protein powder that you want to mix with your food - then by all means use it the way you can!
Double check with your doctor - just to be safe - but I don't see any problems with doing it that way - I've done it before!
Good luck to you!

There is a protein powder that is supposed to be tastless but I think there is some flavor to it. It's called Unjury. You can add it to foods or drinks. I think it tastes a little like powder milk myself.
I do the juicer type protein myself. I like the NEctar Fuzzy Navel & Roadside Lemonade. RIght now I'm using Elite- Orange Dreamsicle Juicers. I kick it up a notch I add Crystal Light Orange Sunrise, Water and or milk with it.
THe best thing to do is order samples. There are plenty of sites that sell samples or send them for free.

Hi Barb... and with WLS, the only dumb question is the one you don't ask! We've all been there, and struggled with the same things...
I mix my protein powder just with water and ice, and it's fine. The vanilla cinnamon flavor (very mild on the cinnamon) is really easy to mix with oatmeal, pudding, yogurt, etc. Since you've got some time before your surgery, I'd suggest going to www.vitalady.com and ordering some samples that you can try ahead of time. Don't worry... you'll get through this sooner than you think!
