I HAD MY SURGERY BACK IN SEPTEMBER 2004(FOBI POUCH). I WAS ADMITTED IN HOSPITAL FOR DEHDYDRATION IN OCTOBER. I GOT OVER THAT AND WAS DOING FINE TIL THE LAST PART OF JANUARY. I WAS ADMITTED ONCE MORE FOR DEHDYDRATION. BOTH TIMES MY POTASSIUM LEVEL WAS LOW AND SODIUM HIGH. I HAVE DONE EVERYTHING DR TOLD ME TO DO, BUT I DON'T HAVE THE ENERGY TO EVEN GET OUT OF BED. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME? I TOLD MY MOM THAT I WISH THAT I HAD NEVER HAD THIS SURGERY. I STARTED ON THE LIQUID B12 THIS -PAST MONDAY. I ONLY TAKE 2 FLINTSTONE CHEWABLES A DAY. MAYBE I AM NOT GETTING ENOUGH VITAMINS. I DON'T KNOW BUT THIS REALLY BOTHERS ME. HAS ANYONE HAD THIS PROBLEM OR KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON? PLEASE LET ME KNOW. EMAIL IF YOU'D LIKE. I JUST REALLY NEED HELP! THANKS BRITTANY

Dawn, what is Juice Plus? Is it available in the grocery store? With my surgery only a couple of weeks away, I'm suddenly realizing that I don't know as much as I should. Thanks, Barb in S. Ga

Sounds like you need B-complex or iron - Iron especially can take away all your energy if you don't get enough.

Brittany, what are you eating? Are you getting in at least 60 grams of protein? I know that some folks say they do the Flintstone vitamins but my surgeon does not recommend those as you can get chewable vitamins for adults as well as chewable Calcium. You need to be taking both, at a minimum daily. There are other vitamins A, K, ?? that the nutritionist brought up at the weight loss seminar. She said you can ge****er soluable ones and that's what we need. I have not looked into those as my energy level is pretty good after hitting a low point at about 4-4.5 months out, which is where you are now. Mine bounced back after about a month...I know Becky Farmer and I both suffered from it...and she hasn't totally recovered though she's giving herself B12 shots as of this week I think, according to the posts. You can double up on vitamins...and calcium...one at morning...another set at night. Many folks do that with good results. You must eat....you must move around...I don't know where you are with ability to be mobile or exercise...just walking your driveway will help to get back some of that energy you've lost from surgery, hospital stays, etc. You'll get some good advice here on the board. Read it and put some things into practice that you think you can handle. Hang in there, it'll get better. Good luck!

Hey, Brittany, Like Joyce (Hey, Sweetie!) said, I am still dealing with the low energy thing. I asked my PCP to prescribe B12 shots, and she did...started those yesterday. I have changed vitamins. I started off taking two Flintstones chewables, changed to three, changed to two Centrums chewables, and have recently started taking OptiSource from WalGreens online. I think that I may not be getting in enough protein. I drink a wonderful Protein shake every day (ProScore-100, chocolate) (32 gms) and have been eating one Power Crunch (14 gms) bar a day. I also snack on nuts and cheese. I also asked my PCP to prescribe an iron supplement, Trinsicon, recommended by my angel, Jen, and she did. The pharmacy had to order it, so I'll start tomorrow. Dr Fields had prescribed Ferrous Sulfate, but I didn't do so well with that one. I definitely think you need to up your vitamins. I haven't been on the OptiSource long enough to know if it will help. Crece Hare, a friend online, uses a vitamin line that she LOVES. This is a definite life style change. I may have to learn to cook now! Our family cook (DH) has been working too much! Ugh!!!! If you had seen me try, you would be cooking for me too. It's very sad! I hope you feel better soon! Hugs, Becky
