I have approval and a date! Long, thank you for reading.

Dear Friends, I last posted that I was giving up the fight with Aetna and I did walk away for two months but decided to fight to the bitter end with them because I needed to have this surgery for my life, and for my little son (6). I prayed for someone to help guide me through the process because I am doing this on my own (no spouse or family here). An amazing day happened last week...I had contacted the GA Insurance Commissioners office and an attorney. I manage business meetings for a hotel and my client was a company that manufacturers the lap-bands. They knew my story with the denials etc. and I told them I had contacted the attorney, they said he is right here in GA....he was standing in front of me! His home base is California but he was speaking to my clients! He spent an hour with me last week, he would have been the perfect advocate. But...today Aetna called and approved me, the doctor called and gave me a date! I am ready for this to happen, would someone out there consider being my angel since I am on my own? thank you! Barb

Good luck Barbara and congratulations. I myself had the same problem so of last week I was approved also by Aetna and my surgery date is March 7th with Dr. Macik. Take care of yourself and see you on the loosing side. Mary
