I'm so upset. I've just had my first gain since surgery. It's only 2 pounds, but it feels like it could've been 50. I'd almost forgotten how awful it feels to get on the scale and watch the numbers increase. I haven't changed the way I've been eating, but I was sick last week and must not have eaten enough to prevent starvation mode. I was figuring the weight might stay the same, but I sure wasn't expecting a gain!

Thanks for your response. Yes, I am working out. I have been working with a personal trainer since mid-Dec. I train for an hour a day 3 days/week. I am definitely building lean body mass, but I don't understand why this week--all of a sudden--it caused me to show a gain. I suppose that intellectually I know it's just an anomaly....but emotionally...it's much, much more than that.

Catherine, Since you mentioned you were sick, also keep in mind it could have been water retention. If you were losing a lot of fluid (on the toilet or ), your body will need a bit to level back out. Push those fluids! You'll be right back on track! You're doing great Amanda
