WAY OT: Good Movies
I've seen Phantom as well.....the movie itself was FABULOUS....I wasn't overly impressed with the guy who portrayed the Phantom. I think they chose him for his looks rather than is vocal capability. (Yeah - he had a nice body....couldn't sing like the ORIGINAL Phantom!!!) I am a Phantom freak so I went to Chattanooga to see it before it came out in Atlanta.....(not to mention I was seeing a guy in that area at the time - another long story that maybe I'll go into on another day LMAO.)
I agree whole heartedly Phantom needs to be seen big screen....try to get to it soon....I'd go see it again....the vocal lacking of the phantim wouldn't deter me from seeing it again!
Becky,
I just went to the movies on Saturday with my two wonderful little boys, and we saw....drumroll please....
Poohs Heffalump Movie!!!!!!
I haven't been to an adult movie since DH and I saw Passion Of the Christ. Sad, I know, but when you have little ones at home, they eat up all our time. We have been starting to do Pay Per View on Saturday nights after we put the boys to bed.
Thanks for asking!
Cathy
Cathy, You know I REALLY do want to see this one. In fact, I want the display from the main lobby. I'll probably wait and buy it for school. I have a Tigger face in my classroom from the Tigger movie several years back. Tigger is my classroom mascot. I remember those days! My mother-in-law kept Drew almost every Friday night for years so that DH and I could have a date each week...especially after the counselor strongly recommended it. LOL I think when Drew was about thirteen he started wanting to be with his friends, but Mama will always be his heart...mine too!!! She lives very close. I am glad that you and hubby are making your own date night!!!
Hugs,
Becky
Becky...My DH and I love a good movie as well....
I booked a hotel off hotwire this Sat. night for my husband and I. We ended up at the Sheraton at Buckhead for a total of $78. My sisterinlaw had booked her and my brother in the same hotel on Orbitz. They paid $125 with taxes, etc.! so hotwire was a great deal.Course, I didn't have a clue we were gonna be at the same place, until I paid for mine and hotewire told me what I had gotten. If anyone wants to do it...just choose BUCKHEAD area 3 stars. You can't go wrong. I've gotten Embassy Suites which was to die for and now Sheraton. We'll do it again in a couple of months we hope! We ate at Maggiano's...lasagne absolutely to die for. $13.95...portions huge enough for two. My husband is a big eater and he brought half home. Wonderful chicken potato soup...incredible creme brulee!
To get back to the topic! lol...we topped off the weekend with a a movie at Phipps! We saw Hitch too. Both of us loved it. It was a blessing for me...for more than one reason. The last time I went to a movie was probably 8 years ago. I understand probably 10% of the dialogue because of my hearing deficit. It's LOUD enough, but just a louder version of mumbo jumbo! lol...Then I outgrew the seats. (( I guess I didn't punish myself for that too much since I couldn't hear it anyway...but THIS TIME....I fit soooooo comfortably in the seat, even put my water bottle in the cup holder (Imagine that!!) and understood probably 95% of the dialogue. Combination of better hearing aids and the fact that so much of the movie was one on one coversation between the actors and face views where I could read their lips if I had trouble. Such an awesome experience for me to get to share that with DH. I actually just "went along" because I hate to cheat him out a movie on the big screen. This is the first movie we've seen since he moved to Ga. April 2002. We got back in time to do evening service at church.Life is Good. ;) God is Good.
