If you can handle capules or pills try oderless garlic. Garlic is good for killing those bugs that go around this time of year. I used it for sinus problems and it worked quicker than anything I had ever used before.
If you have a homopathic pharmacy they are great. My daughter using them all the time but there is not one in my area. Her pediatrician says her kids get well faster with what she gets there than his other patients who use the prescriptions for regular meds he gives.

Hubby post-op 9 days and doing great.
Laura, I'm not sure if it's surgery related or not, hon. I, too, was out sick for 3 consecutive days last week. Very unusual for me. I mean, maybe one day and then back, etc. HOWEVER, in defense of the "other" opinion, my whole school is FULL of sickness. Our front office secretary is NEVER out...She's been out for the whole week, even had to do an ER visit so it may just be the booger of all boogers as far as viruses, etc. are concerned. I did hear on the news that Feb.-March is the worst month for sickness. I expect cause we're all crammed in together breathing each other's germs vs. outside more in pretty weather, etc. Keep yer hands washed!! I've just ordered all of us little bottles of the antibacterial hand gel that you use at your desk withou****er. Try that. Stay well!
well there is a benfite to being sick ...i think i hav elost another 5-10 pounds LOL LOL ....But i think you are right i just talked to a freind of mine and she said in her childs school there are like 200 kids out with the flu ...Man i am never sick i use my sick time for mental health days ...not actual sick days ...UGHHHH and i dont get more until july 1 ..man i cannt have any break downs before then i guess LOL

My feelings eggzackly, Laura! Last week after 3 days home I had lost 8 lbs.! I expect this week I'll gain 3-4 due to a more realistic food/fluid intake, but I'm keeping off at least 4-5 lbs of it I expect. That's a big loss for me at 6 months out, especially considing I had lost 5 lbs the previous week. THAT week I was playing catch up for walking 2 weeks in a row. We'll see after my weekend weigh-in this week. Hope you're feeling better!
Hey Laura,
I'm so sorry to hear you aren't feeling well.
I know there is a bad bug going around and it lasts 3 weeks! Trying to go back to normal too soon only makes it worse. I know a bunch of people who have gotten it and they all have the same symptoms and say that rest is the best medicine.
It doesn't help that none of us can check out of life to rest for 3 weeks!
I had a flu shot and am hoping it does the trick for me. I'm wondering if everyone who has this surgery doesn't need one.
I'm praying for a quick recovery for you.

Bless your heart, Laura!!! I get the flu shot every year, because I NEVER want to be that sick again. The worst part for me since the surgery is the trouble with nausea when I catch a bug. When I throw up, I feel like I am going to lose my eyeballs. I guess the heaving action has less area to cover. Tell them that Mother Becky says that you need to go home NOW, and they can't dock you or it will really cause great stress that may result in a relapse. Wash your hands OFTEN!!! Tell everyone else to wash their hands too. Do I need to come over there, Young Lady?
Love ya'
Becky
I seem to be much healthier (with the exception of this bout of Pancreatitis) post op. I haven't had any flu symptoms in 21 months. I was noticing today how healthy and strong my finger nails are now. Pre-op, I could never grow nails - they peeled all the time.
I think the focus on protein, water, vitamins and calcium keeps me healthier. Not to mention a weight loss of 140 pounds!
Laura,
Sorry you're sick. I don't know if it's surgery related, but I can tell you the flu gets nastier every year. I used to get it every year, then for the past 2 years I have taken the flu shot and it's passed me by. This year I couldn't get it because of the shortage. The last time I had the flu, I thought I would die from the headache. I think the bugs out there are just harder to kill because of all the antibiotic use.
Hope you fell better soon.
