I had surgery last Wednesday and find that I have hungry days. Yesterday I didn't eat much but today I am hungry (and not just head hunger either) I had a protein shake this morning, a yogurt mid-morning, and for lunch I sat down to 4oz of cottage cheese and still want more! Please help!!

Kimberely, It took me about 3-4 weeks to feel satisfied. ALl of a sudden one day I felt satisfied/full. Some say it takes that long for the nerve endings to heal inorder to feel the full sensation. Hang in there gal.

Thanks for the info! That makes a lot of sense. I need to be diligent not to sit down with the whole 4oz of cottage cheese (I never thought I would here myself say that!!!) I will measure it out and save half for later. Too bad the yogurts and cottage cheese don't come in Mini's!

Hey, Kimberly!!! Don't worry! The surgery worked. Are you getting in your water? It was hard for me to drink enough water especially at the beginning. I still have to make myself do this. Maybe warm foods will help with the hunger...just a thought! Hugs, Becky

I am doing fairly well with the water but it is hard for me to remember to stop drinking 30 minutes before I eat because I am drinking all the time. I had pain in my side and then I remembered what your profile said.....Thanks!

Do you know how many ounces your surgeon made your pouch? I would discuss this with your surgeon if you have any concerns... Drinking the water does help. They tell you not to drink within 30 minutes of meals because they want you to clearly seperate drinking with meals. Fluids go straight thru your pouch, so you're OK if you don't eat and then drink.
