Dr. Hixon.....
Went for my appointment with Dr. Hixon yesterday. Man, his office staff is SO nice and so is Dr. Hixon...he ACTUALLY has a personality. I am thrilled with him. He said that as soon as he gets all my paperwork for Dr. Burrowes that he will submit and we should know something next week. He said that I might be able to get in for surgery within the next two weeks *grin*. Anyone looking for a great office to go to I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Clarence Hixon!!!! Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Dr. Burrowes is a good doctor, however his office staff is horrible to deal with (in my opinion). I had to switch though because I had to re-apply with Medicaid and Dr. Burrowes doesn't accept it anymore. Dr. Hixon's office got me in the same week and he is WONDERFUL! he is in the same building as Dr. Burrowes (across from Atlanta Medical, building 285 Boulevard, Suite 440). Everyone that was waiting for him RAVED over him and when I went back and met him I knew why.....I wish I had chosen him from the beginning...I probably would have had my surgery a long time ago!!!
Everything above is MY personal opinion....lol. Don't slaughter me fans of Dr. Burrowes.

ooohhhh, ok. I also have medicaid so that leaves Burrowes out for me. I can't believe you got an appointment that quick. I know I have said this before but I'm on a waiting list for Dr. Khaitan and can't even go to her manditory seminar until after April.
So... Is Hixon actually IN Atlanta? I haven't lived here all that long and really do not know Atlanta and suburbs that well. Just Marrietta where I use to live, then the airport, lol, and now I live in Macon.
You're a doll to share info Shree, thanks so much,
Barb
I've heard nothing but WONDERFUL things about Dr Hixon, who worked with Dr. Burrowes until he decided to start his own practice that dosen't involve just bariatric surgery. If you're on a waiting list that is that far off just to attend a seminar - I'd see if you could switch. The drive to Atalnta would be worth it in my humble opinion.
Best of luck to you!
Thank you so much Dee Dee! I've finally built up the courage to call Dr. Hixon's office and what do you know, I've missed them by 10 minutes!
I am being so wishy washy about this I'm driving myself cookoo I think. Then I get a dose of courage here and I'm 10 minutes too late.
Ok, I will call on Monday morning.
God give me the strength to do what I know I need to do...
Thanks to everyone for being patient with me, and for being here. I thank God everyday for you all and this website
Barb,
Atlanta Medical is right off the interstate at the very bottom of the city of Atlanta so it certainly won't be a very long drive for you. Just don't make an appointment before 10 a.m. or after 2:30 and you won't get stuck in our lovely traffic.
I don't live very far from Atlanta and I drive to Macon for meetings all the time. As a matter of fact I have one Monday. Driving hard it takes me about an hour and fifteen minutes to reach Riverside Dr. off exit 167. Depending on where you are in Macon it won't be more than an hour and half drive or so.
God Bless,
Rhonda
Rhonda,
Thanks so much, girl! Now I have an idea in my head where he is. The bottom of Atlanta definitely helps! Guess thats how this female brain of mine works
Hope things are going smoothly for you. Is your trip to Atlanta an all day thing? Would be cool to meet for lunch or something.
Take care, Barb
