HIPAA requires that you authorize the release of your protected health information...yes, even to you. If they won't fax you a release, create a fax cover sheet with your name, address, SSN, DOB, and a copy of your driver's license and request that they fax a copy of your lab results to you immediately. Becky I will be praying for you. I have Dr. Duncan as my surgeon and I am glad to be aware I need to use my PCP for labs etc. after surgery. I thought things were getting better since they had a new office manager. Oh well. God Bless you! Michelle

Hey, Michelle, The prayers worked. I actually spoke with four people from PB today, and they were all very nice!!! I think things are getting better. Lab Corp had lost me!!! LOL In His love!!! Becky

Wow, Ya'll are soooo sweet! I just got home from work and am blessed by your responses! Kenya from Peachtree just called me while she was on the phone with Lab Corp who couldn't find me in the system. On Monday, a tech person at the first lab had given me my referral number, and I actually still had it - that alone is a major miracle!) They found me!!! Kenya is going to call me back with the results. I am asking her to fax my lab work to Dr. Bakshi as soon as possible. I already had asked Dr. Fields, but I've got that fax # ready again. It will be easier to go to my PCP since she is so close to home. If I hear back today, I'll let you know. Just wanted to thank you again for your kindness! I knew I should have gone to my PCP, but when PB called for check ups, I thought that was the correct routine. Learn from my mistakes!!! Love you!!! Becky P.S. I definitely don't think it's wrong to get angry, but I definitely do not act like Jesus when I do it! I can be a real smart mouth...also have the evil eye. Teenagers who travel with us say I'm much more scary than my teddy bear hubby.

Update: Dr. Fields called and said I need more iron, but everything else looks good. She called in a prescription for me and was going to call in b12 shots until I said, "Is it okay that I don't know how to give myself shots?" Sometimes, my brilliance amazes even me!!! She recommended that I go to my PCP for those. As some folks might say, "Here's your sign!" Tonya also faxed my labwork to my PCP TODAY!!! How cool is that? Thank you so much for praying.
