I'd like some info on Dr. Burrowes, like where he is located and how his bedside is and surgery results, etc. He's not registered so I didn't find anytihng on line about him. Any help would be sooo appreciated!! love to you all and God Bless, Barb

Barb, Dr. Burrows was someone I was strongly considering too, but let me put in a plug for John Scarborough. He's in Smyrna, just about 7-8 minutes off I-285. He's thorough, cautious, and will check you out throughly before he schedules surgery so he has no surprises with complications that could have been avoided. (My pcp said she's never seen a surgeon request all the tests he asks for, but that made her more supportive of me having the surgery because she was so comfortable with his approach.) He has a great bedside manner, I've never had to wait more than 10 minutes at his office, his staff is very knowledgeable, compassionate, and helpful. My surgery was just one week ago, and I can also say I was completely impressed with the staff at the hospital where he works, Emory-Adventist. Very little waiting, competent and friendly staff, and the nurses on the OR team and in the ICU were superb! I would not hesitate to recommend him highly to anyone. If you want more info about him, his website is: www.doctorscarborough.com. Best of luck to you in your search, Cheryl

Barb, As you know I haven't met Dr. Burrowes yet. I will in two weeks. I've read some patient reviews and all are favorable. People don't seem to care for the scheduler in his office though. He is in Atlanta near Atlanta Medical Center. His hospitals are Atlanta Medical, Crawford Long, Grady and South Fulton. He does all the surgeries including DS and FOBI Pouch. He is board certified in general surgery and bariatric surgery, which is important to me. All of the doctors aren't board certified in Bariatric but they still do surgery. That doesn't mean they aren't qualified, but to me it means "I don't care about attaining the highest credential in my field." I don't like that. Anyway, I'm not plugging him, because I haven't met him, but I thought I'd give you the info you were looking for. It is a hard decision with all the choices, especially since they are all with my insurance network. Blessings, Rhonda
