surgery set for Feb. 4 (Friday)
I'm new to this web site, didn't even know they had a Georgia section. I'm excited but also very nervous about Friday and what to expect and what I will be facing. Some things I read are scary and others are very helpful. Will I be in alot of pain? What are good protein drinks? Is depression a problem? It seems alot of people go thru it after surgery - any suggestions, comments or any help will be greatly appreciated along with alot of prayers.
thanks,
Martha
Hi, Martha! Welcome!!!
Personally, I was not in a lot of pain. My LAP gall bladder surgery and c-section delivery were worse.
My favorite protein drink is Pro-Score 100, chocolate, that I get from Vita-lady online. I order it two months at a time. Shipping is very expensive, and it always takes at least two weeks to arrive, so I'm trying to find it somewhere else.
Depression may be a problem if you have that tendency. I do, so I started medication a few weeks before...lowest dosage of Prozac, and it seemed to do the trick. If this has been a problem in the past, I would highly recommend starting the meds now.
Hugs,
Becky
Hello Martha. I had my surgery 2 weeks ago and the pain from the actual surgery wasn't too bad but I had problems with the gas pains so be sure to walk as much as possible so this doesn't happen to you. I have never been depressed before but since my surgery I have had a few days that I was really down but with each passing day it gets better. Everyone kept telling me it would get better and I didn't believe them but they were right and it is getting better. I wish for you an uneventful surgery and a speedy recovery.
