Medicaid cost

Hi everybody I was needing some help from you guys. I'm on medicaid and I'm being told that medicaid doesnt cover alot of the prescreening test for the WLS. I'm unemployed and there's no way that I can come up with all these out of pocket expenses. I've also read alot of profiles on the site and I came across one that said she had to pay $1500 with medicaid. I'm starting to get discouraged because I've been unemployed for over a year and I'm having problems just keeping the utilites going. Has anyone else had this situation and if so were you able to set up payment plans with the dr's for it?? I would greatly appreciate any help I could get with this. Kristy

It depends on what you have to have before surgery. My paperwork was sent in last week. Im not appro0ved yet, but the only things I had to pay for was the dietician and the 2 day seminar. You usually have to pay for the psy also. So Max for me would have been $525 but I was lucky to get to see a psy that takes Medicaid, but usually you have to use the one the Dr. says. So I only had to pay 275 I was lucky, but I think I was punished for not using there psy, because my paperwork was suppose to be sent in on the 6th. Then they told me I had to see there Psy anyways he just wouldn't charge me. So they didn't send my paperwork in untill the 20th. So I would use the Dr. they tell you to get it done quicker. lol Jennifur
