GOOD MORNING GA BOARD, I cannot begin to tell you what you all mean to me. This is a great bunch of folks on here. I only hope that after my surgery I can help others the way so many of you have helped me. The day is almost here. I am scheduled for 1:30 tomorrow. I am so excited. I can hardly wait. I feel like a mexican jumping bean. I have cleaned so much yesterday and today, I know my kids think I'm losing it. I'm recruiting their help, and that always makes them ill. LOL I can't help it. I have to do something to keep myself busy so I don't have time to ponder the what ifs and maybes. I have made the decision to become healthy. I have many family members who are still trying to change my mind. But I am standing firm. I saw a phrase on here yesterday. It is going to be my mantra from now on. DON'T BE AFRAID YOUR LIFE WILL END; BE AFRAID IT WILL NEVER BEGIN. This rings so true for me. Up until now I feel just like I have been going through the motions of living. Breathing, carrying on life functions. But I have never really enjoyed my life. This weight has always been an obstacle and it will finally be gone. My mom would be so happy. We lost her in 2002. And her death has really been a deciding factor for me too. She was only 48 years old. I want to live to be old and gray. I know I will go through the surgery tomorrow with no complications. I have faith in my Lord. And I know He will guide my surgeons hands. Keep me in your prayers! Thanks so much for listening to me. Have a great day! Tonya Waters

Thanks so much for sharing that Judy. I don't remember a time in my life when I wasn't overweight. I know that once the weight is gone I will enjoy my life for the first time ever. I can hardly contain my excitement.

Hi Tonya! I love your mantra--I'm going to write it down and put it on my fridge. I have a heart cath scheduled for tomorrow-and have been so fearful today that I've almost been physically sick. Not afraid of the procedure, so much--just afraid to know what shape I've let my body get into. I'm 39--and there is a good chance I have a blockage. That has had me scared! Your post brought me peace today--just when I needed it. So I'm going in tomorrow holding my head high-knowing this is just another step in my journey to LIVING. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Your words just really touched me today. I will pray for you and your surgeon tomorrow. Please pray for me, too! I know God will be with us both-and we will both be fine. Hugs, and best wishes!! And Good Luck to you too Michelle with your Heart Cath. I hope your results are as good as mine were. I worried myself sick, and came out smelling like a rose. I hope you do as well. Tonya, you will be in my thoughts & prayers all through the day tomorrow. I know everything will be just fine, I read you lost your mom when she was 48, well I lost my dad when he was 48 also. It was in 1993. It to has been so hard, & I feel like he also will be proud of me when i have my surgery. I go for my last visit with my PCP on Feb 19th, I had to go through the 6 month weight loss history. After that all my information goes back go my Insurance Company, & I hope to get an approval shortly after that. Well enough with me, you stay strong tomorrow & let God take care of you, you will do wonderful. I'll be thinking of you. HUGS & PRAYERS Tammy Gunter

Hi, Dear Tonya, Here's my prayer for you: "They did not conquer by their own strength and skill, but by Your mighty power and because You smiled upon them and favored them." Ps. 44:3 (TLB) May the Lord greatly smile on you and your surgeon tomorrow. May your new life begin!!!! Love ya' Becky
