Heart Cath on Wed.
Man, oh Man--I dread Wed. like nobody's business. What a baby I am! My DH said "How will you handle surgery if this is such a big deal?" Well DUH-- I'm asleep during surgery. I have to be awake for this procedure! I told my cardio. that he'd better have some good drugs or I'd be one big basket of nerves.
Good News: (besides the fact that we've discovered a problem before it's a problem-- which is great news, really!) This DOES NOT affect my ability to have WLS. The cardio. said once we address the problem, I can be clear within a month, most likely. In fact, he said if this IS a blockage, then he's all for WLS, because I'd end up being healthier after it's all done. He's one more person added to my team of dr's that are all for this!
I did cancel my appt with the psych (which was for tomorrow) as I don't think I'm in the correct frame of mind to be evaluated. I'm too nervous and uptight. After the cath, I'll reschedule and have a whole month to get the psych results (while I wait on cardio clearance).
I'm rambling, aren't I? ha! NERVES!!!! Please keep me on your prayer list for Wed-I need to get thru this and move forward!
Hugs-
Michelle
Hey Michelle!
I am so glad that you're facing this situation with such a positive attitude! It is so normal to be nervous! I get nervous when I have medical proceedures done too! Especially when I am awake for them! I'm also glad you took care of yourself by canceling the psych appt for now! There's no need to be under added stress when you know the cardiac cath is going to be on Wed. Good for you! I will again send you positive vibes on Wed.!
Blessings!

Michelle,
WHen my mom had it done, they told her they had an open bar, all she had to do was say "I want more" and they gave her more Versed. Dont be fearful of asking for more medication. My prayers will be with you and tell your DH...yes you will be sleeping while they poke and prod during surgery....his turn may come soon enough...lol. Let me know how you are doing. Miss ya.
D'Lynn
Hey, D'Lynn! I just read your reply-and had to laugh. If it's open bar, I'm asking for a to-go cup! You know a little versed might help out on those days when our youngest ones are in their rarest of forms!!! ha!
I'll let you know how things go--I feel sure this will not be a big deal either way. If it's nothing, then I come home. If it's something, I get a night off and get to be waited on by St. Joe's finest. Hey--that doesn't sound half bad, really!!
I'll email you on thurs night if I'm home-(should be!)
Hugs---
Michelle
