COLD...BRRRRRR!
I tell you the one thing about this surgery that I can't stand...besides loosing gobs of hair, is being cold all the time!!! DO you all have this problem? This is definately a first for me. I've never been this cold natured. It is like cold all the way to the core. I actually sleep in long yoga pants, and long sleeved shirt and socks. Never in my life have I been able to sleep like that. I've started taking iron pills and uping my protein but it hasn't helped any. My nose gets so cold...I told James I'm turning into a dogLOL
Freezing in Warner Robins,
Tonya
Hey Ms. Tonya!
I am still pre-op but my friends and co-workers who are post-op have said that they freeze ALL OF THE TIME now! Some of them wear long sleeves and sweaters or jackets in the summertime cuz of air conditioned buildings! It seems as though that's one of the side effects of the WLS, or so I've been told. Try to stay warm and nurse that head cold thing that you're coming down with!
Blessings!
Cheryl G.
I am alot colder now than before. I used to be able to go outside in just a light jacket or sweater. Not anymore, it's my heavy jacket all the time. I am hoping as it gets closer to summer that it'll continue. I was planning on using my income tax refund to have the a/c in my car fixed, but had to borrow money form my mom to pay for this surgery. She gets paid back first, then the car a/c. I am hoping not to need it as bad this year since I am on my way to being thinner (and much cooler).

Tonya,
Get used to the cold, because it will never go away! I have been cold for almost two years, and with time you will just learn to deal with it I guess.
I have had all my blood levels checked, and they say that I am okay, but they told me, some people just always stay cold.
Some things that I have learned over time are.....
Wool socks: My DH bought me some from Lands End, they are just great! Some even have those little things on the bottoms of the feet, so you don't go sliding around.
Slippers: One thing my doctor told me a long time ago, was to keep your ankles covered, so those clog like slip on slippers, don't really work. Once again my DH, got me these fleece boot like slippers from Lands End, they keep my feet so toasty! The only problem is, the bottom is suede, and you can't wash them!
Mattress Cover: I don't honestly know what I would do without my heated mattress cover/pad. It has dual controls, so I can have my side of the bed on high, and my husband can have his at whatever he wants.
I have pretty much resigned myself that this is how it's gonna be from now on, so I just try to make the best of it, the one good thing about all of it though is that I don't ever sweat anymore! Even here last summer, not even once! Good luck with your quest to say warm!!!
Cathy
I have been hot blooded all my life. But today I am freezing and cannot get warm. I have noticed lately that I tend to wear more clothes than I ever have before, including a jacket but no matter what today it isn't working. At work I usually have at least one fan if not two going at all times(yes winter time too), I do no think that I have turned it at all since September. I thought I was the one being wierd. Good to know a lot of us are going through the same thing. Hugs and prayers Girlfriend, Theresa
Cute lil' dog you'd be-for real!! LOL Just kiding, honestly.
I'm only a little over a month out and Tonya's blankets on the couch while watching tv or dvd's are starting to feel mighty nice most evenings to me as well. She generally refers to me as the human radiator, says I give off heat alot, lately though I've seemed to cool down a bit meself.
