new need help
Hi Diana
Welcome. Many post ops do have a problem with loose skin after the rapid & large amount of weight lost. Everyone is different, but just from other people I have talked to - most people have at least one or more areas that they need help with post op. There are varying degrees of plastic surgery that you can have. You may want to check out the plastic surgeons area for web sites just to help give you some more insight. As far as insurance goes it really depends. Some individuals have told me that they had a good portion of their procedures covered because it was deemed "medically necessary." In other words they had to have it documented by a physician that it was causing a problem with day to day isuues like mobility or causing pain (ie back probs) or in many instances rashes & infection. A lot depends on your plan as well, so you will really need to check into your specefic coverage and any exclusions that may already be in place. I hope that helps some. If you have any other questions I will be glad to try & help or at least give you my individual opinion / perspective - so feel free to email me. Good luck with your journey & God bless!

Welcome Diana, adn the answer to your question is yes as far as a surgery to have the excess skin removed. A lot of the insurance says if it is medically necessary, they will pay for the skin removal. It just depends on your insurance. I look forward to getting to know you. take care and good luck in your journey.
Hugs,
