PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE! look at all of your opions. What about Peachtree Bariatrics I used them and I doing fine. I had my surgery on the 01/19/05. You don't hear Dr Hixon's name to much. I followed the reputation. My prayers are with you. I like your staying power. Tonya T 01/19/05

LOL...thanks, I can be a pain in the butt when I want something bad enough and I am willing to do whatever it takes to get this surgery!! The problem is that I need a surgeon that accepts Medicaid since Dr. Burrowes doesn't anymore. Does anyone have any suggestions???? Shree

Shree, he was a partner of Dr. Burrowes before he went out on his own. Dr. B's office staff spoke very, very highly of him when I mentioned to them I had seen him before I made my appt. to see Dr. Burrowes. At the time, I had no idea they were connected. When I went he had just moved into his new office....it was in total disarray and he seemed way too hurried to suit me. His comments about surgery seemed like a rehearsed, "I've said this a thousand times before message." I don't doubt he's a good surgeon, though. I just probably got him at a bad time for badside manner. Hindsight tells me, it was just the "setting up a new office" scenario I expect. He and Dr. Burrowes assist each other on occasion according to one of the office staff at Dr. B's. Key question is always...HOW MANY of these surgeries have you performed...it should be hundreds as far as I'm concerned.

Hi Shree, I know that Dr. Leena Khaitan accepts medicaid but the wait to even attend a seminar is like 5 or 6 months. Thats where I'm at in my journey. I'll keep you posted if I can find someone sooner, hope you will remember me too! Good Luck! Barb

Shree, I used Dr. Hixon, and love him. I didn't want to go to a conveyer belt Dr. I am not a number and don't want to be treated like one. Dr. Hixon performs Fobi Pouches. You can go to www.fobipouch.com and read up on the surgery. Dr. Hixon is also a surgeon who performs all kinds of bariatric surgery, not just weight loss. His staff is small and they learn your name and then they will always call you by name. He has moved again to a large office in AMC building 285, 4th floor. Call them, Pam his nurse will be glad to send you a package. You are welcome to email me with anyother questions. Good luck... Were you able to get Medicaid? Hope so so you can follow your journey to the end. Lynn

That is who I plan to use. I have meet once and he was very assuring and answered all my questions and fears. I so far have not heard anything bad about him. Keep me posted on your journey. The office just submitted to my insurance so I will see what happens.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. I have my appointment with him on Thursday....I have to say that his office staff in incredibly nice and helpful. Pamela said that since I already have everything done that if I can get my file from Dr. Burrowes' office that she will submit FAST. Keep your fingers crossed that this works!
