Whew!!! Glad that is over! Got to Emory Dunwoody Hospital really early-lab got me in quickly. Bless the tech's heart-she was so nervous poking me cuz I have such terrible veins. She found one, though-Kudos to her! Nuc. Med guy wasn't as lucky--he had to inject stuff into my veins--my hardest thing. Took him a few times-but he got stuff in finally. (Yippee!) The Upper GI was yucky--awful tasting stuff! I have a hernia (small one) and Reflux (I've pretty well known that for a while.) The Arterial Blood Gas would have been okay could he find an artery that would hold still for him to poke--but NO....I don't cooperate that easily. It meant two sticks...and a lot of digging--but he got it finally. I almost kissed him! All that is over--tomorrow just the treadmill part. I do have to have an IV started for that-even the tech said he doesn't know how we'll manage--but he said he'd try twice then call the IV team if he can't get it. I'm praying I have a vein that will take another day of work! ha! Thanks for your prayers--it was tough only cuz I'm so hard to stick. But I made it! Michelle

Hey Michelle, I wound up with 5 holes in me too today. I am going to drink plenty of water for tomorrow. Gary was great...he was the Resp tech...although he had to stick me 2 times..not his fault....it really didnt hurt as bad as I had myself worked up for. They didn't tell me the results of my GI but I know I have reflux, they didnt have to tell me that one....Will write me on an individual post. By the way, did Gary take up to the unit to see it....? OMG it is beautiful. He took me to see the rooms and the shower room...it truely is the "Ritz". You would never think it was a hospital except for the beds. If you didnt get to see it..you need to make a trip back there tomorrow when you go for your dietary consult to see it. Didnt you say your consult was at around 10AM? I should be done with treadmill and no one else was scheduled with me, or I didnt see them. Want to get breakfast after your appt, mine isnt until 1230, so I will have a wait. Just post me and let me know. My cell number is 478-290-4054, call me anytime. D'Lynn

Oh my....5 times? You sound like me. I'm mad at Gary--he didn't take me up to see the rooms! I'll have to fuss at him if I see him again! ha! I'm not headed that way to my dietary consult--I'm headed to Hart's office. Is that where yours is? (I really don't know where it is in realationship to the hospital--his office might be close, actually!) Anyway--I'll be around Dr. Hart's office at 10:30 for my dietary consult. I think they said it takes 30 min...so I'll be done at 11am. If your consult is at his office, we could meet over there somewhere if you'd like! I have no idea what's around there...but I remember there was "stuff". If I don't hear from you on this MB, I'll call you later this evening. Hope your afternoon goes well! Michelle
