HELP

I am looking for a doctor in GA. that will do surgery with a BMI above 55. Can someone help me with this problem?

You can contact my surgeron, Dr. Burrowes (678 904 1606) I believe he can help you. My BMI was 53 and I did not have to loose weight going into surgery. I have since lost 145 lbs is 8 months and have recommended his to SEVERAL other paitents who have used him as well. Hi Kenneth, Where are you located? Are you close to Athens? There is a great surgeon here by the name of Sergio T. Mejias, MD. that did my own surgery. My starting BMI was over 53. If you are within commuting distance, you may want to give him a call, or attend one of his seminars. He is a great man, and a wonderful surgeon...very caring, very thorough and meticulous. I had a hard time finding a surgeon who did surgery on anyone over like a 60 BMI....mine was well above that. My surgeon was Dr. Sidney Appel who operates out of Dekalb Medical Center in Decatur. His number is 404-501-7081. Kelle

Hi Kenneth.... I know that Dr. Appel will do them, as he just did a friend of mine. You can also call my surgeon, who I highly recommend. He is fantastic. My surgeon was Dr. Joh Daly. I would second the recommendation of Dr. John Daly. I know that he does higher BMI's and does not require weight loss prior to surgery. You may also want to give Dr. Christopher Hart a call, sorry, don't have a phone number for him. Dr. Daly and Dr. Hart both do surgery out of Northside, not sure of where else.
