Help! I have heard everyone talking about getting samples of protein shakes and things from various companies...What are the companies website or a way of contacting them. I would like to try to find something I like better before surgery, than experiment afterwards. Also, while in wally world today I looked at the different premixed shakes. Suprisingly, slim fast had 20g of protein per shake where there adkins or eas only had 9-15...has anyone tried the slim fast as a supplement and how did you tolerated it if you did? D'Lynn

Another thing to look at is the amount of sugar in a serving. After surgery I've been told you won't be able to drink a whole can at least for a while. My hubby's doctor says no more than 5g of sugar per serving. The last thing you want is to dump.

Debbie, You are right and that is what I have heard too...no sugars greater than 5g. I do have a question though, what about natural sugars like in fresh fruit, does that count too? I always thought fresh fruit was better than canned fruit or candy sugars. D'Lynn

Hey D'Lynn--me again. (I emailed you-did you get it? I think I'm having email trouble...) I ordered samples from vitalady.com They came on Fri. I'm experimenting with some various flavors. Found a couple that I might be able to handle-not exactly tasty---but tolerable. I also found sugar free carnation inst. breakfast. It doesn't have much protein alone-but if you use the carb control milk (12 g. protein per cup) AND add in some unflavored protein powder (got mine at GNC), you can up the protein pretty well on them. Someone told me they used some sugar free hot cocoa mix to make chocolate ones. Haven't looked into this yet. Cracks me up--you and I are running around doing the same things--having the same questions--we're too funny! Michelle
