Call you PCP or your surgeon. Dec. 29 I had this horrible pain that lated from 6 p.m. on Wed. night till 4 p.m. on Thurs. I was in the hospital from wed. night till Fri. They don't know what was wrong, they couldn't find anything. My cousin had the surgery 9 years ago and she had a bowel blockage and a friend of mine had one , they both had to have surgery again, so don't take any changes , call you doctor. Good luck , Judy
Hey Laura,
I have had that problem too! My PCP told me along with my surgeon to take fiber pills. You can do the sugar free chewable ones. I had to take laxatives for 3 days until I got unstuck!!! and once I did I have been chewing the tablets daily and havent had a problem. My surgeon said we take in lots of protein and little roughage to help clean us out.
I would go see the Dr just to make sure that is what it is and that you dont have anything else wrong. Hang in there chick

My doctor says we can take either Surfak or Colace, which is a stool softner. He also said to hold off on the Peri-Colace as it has a laxative in it also, and might be a bit too much.
Last week when I got my kidney stone blasted, and they put a stent in, I got very constipated and the pressure the stent also put on my bowel made me miserable. I got my mom to pick up some of the Wal-Mart brand of Colace for me. I took 2 the first night, 1 the next morning, and 2 the second night. By morning 3 I was going pretty good. It sure was a relief. I hope this might be of some help.

Welcome to my world! LOL My PCP put me on Miralax. I'm suppose to take it everyday. It's a ordorless, tasteless gentle "laxative" that can be taken long term. It takes liek 5 days to really work so I had to do an enema. Sucks but it worked like a charm. MOM has worked in the past also.
Contact your Dr just to make sure.
