Sending off for approval from insurance

Hi everyone, hope all are well. I had an appointment with Dr. Duncan's office on Friday. They said they were going to be sending off for approval this week. We finally got all my first paperwork in for approval Does anyone know about how long it takes to be processed? I have Cigna. Also when should I start calling the insurance company and what should I ask. Any suggestions would be helpful. Also, I lost 13 pounds since my first appointment in December I am praying everything goes smoothly Nalani

Nalani, This first time I sent in my packet to the insurance in took me only a week to be denied. Well it was a denial letter, but really they just needed more info. 6 mth dr supervised diet. But after we finished that it only took one week to the day, my ins co called the surgeon's office with the approval. But the first time I was calling in about 3 business days just to check, waiting is the hardest thing. God bless, Donna
