Compression garments... do they really help?

Hi y'all. I'm wondering about those compression garments they were showing at the convention. I can see how they would help you look and feel "more contained" as you're losing weight. But they also claim they help reduce swelling, improve circulation, and actually help your skin "fit to its new form." Are they saying these garments can reduce the need for plastic surgery down the road? Do they actually DO that??? I'd love to hear from anyone with experience with them, or hear what any of your doctors have said about them. Thanks! Cheryl

I am with you Cheryl! I want to know if those compression "thingies" really work! Some of them are pretty pricey! I noticed that Drs. Proctor and Richards did not say anything either way as to weather those garments are very effective! Cheryl G.

I tried one on and it was awesome!! It really made my back feel good.(I have a bad lower back) not to mention that it made me about two sizes smaller. It was also like a boob job in a bagLOL I didn't get one b/c of the price but I have all the info here and plan to look into it soon. I know Dee Dee Cole bought one. It made her pants so big I thought they were gonna fall off.LOL I'll bet she would be willing to speak about the garmet. Tonya

All I can say is I tried one on and OMG it felt fantastic. Just the support alone would be worth the cost. I know that sounds hard to believe but it was wonderful. My back hurts and I know I have to improve my posture, however old habits are hard to break and with that girdle on it does it for you. It also moved the "twins" to back in the area in which God intended them to be!!! I came home and told my Mom about it. She turned around got the brochure and ordered me one!!!! YEA (early B-day) So when I get mine and wear it for a few days I will post and let ya know. Lynn Lifsey 243/157 lovin life

I want to know how they feel after a few hours. I have had some pretty negative experiences with girdles that hurt...right when the preacher starts talking or at the reception when I'm ready to have fun. Dee Dee exchanged hers for a different one pretty quickly. How is this one, Dee Dee? I'm also pretty skeptical about claims without evidence. I am afraid that it will make me hot...panty hose make me uncomfortable. Some of us older ladies have...hmmm...other issues...like hot flashes. It was recommended that you hand wash them. Every day?!? If I wear it to work out, it will need laundering immediately. Do they have to be "line dried"? I know Bo wears one, but I bet he didn't have to buy his. I do think it's pretty cool that he had forgotten that he had it on at the airport...that's a good sign. I want to know more too!!! If it's a miracle garment, I want one! I think Vegas Deb bought one also. Maybe we will hear from some of the people who bought them. Thanks for asking, Cheryl, Inquiring minds want to know. I didn't take a brochure. Does anyone have a website where I can post questions? Hugs, Becky

I did buy one this weekend and wore it for most of the seminar - but took off for dinner.....I needed a moment's break from it....it REALLY compresses you in! When I changed after dinner back into it after dinner (before we went out dancing) I could feel an immediate difference in my clothes. I looked better in them - I felt better all around. Helps with back support and seriously helps with excess skin from jiggling all over the place. It was probably the most comfortable night of dancing in my life! I did exhange from the full body one to the mid thigh simply because I was worried about it gathering up behind the knees and forming blood clots. My mom had to wear super compression stockings most of my adult life - and I know they preached about not letting them wrinkle. I LOVE the mid thigh. I don't think that regular wear it will ride up at all, but I know it did ride up a bit (not bad though) while I was dancing....most of which was my fault because I do dance like a hoochie when I have some beverages in me..... I would suggest one for everyone....you'll have to wear something similar for a while after any skin removal you get done - why not go ahead and get used to them now??? (Heck - if it made me really look two sizes smaller - then I'm all for it!)
