More good news!
Well I had a scare today. Mildred from Dr Hart's office called me today and informed me I had a pre-existing clause on my insurance and it would probably not pay at all for the visit or surgery. She asked me if I wanted to reschedule for after my pre-existing period and I told her my insurance would not cover the procedure after July 31. I did some investigating and called the insurance company to find out why I had that clause on my policy when I have never had it before. The lady told me it was because I did not have insurance prior to BCBS. I told her I did have insurance and that it was in effective until 2 weeks before the new insurance took affect. I asked her if I could get it taken off and if so, what I had to do for that to happen. She said all I had to do was get a certificate of coverage from my previous insurance company and fax it to them. Luckily, I called the old company (Core Medical Group) and they were glad to send me the certificates I needed by fax. I then faxed it to BCBS, and she told me it should take 24 hrs to take affect...woohoo.....close one.
The whole point of this is to inform anyone who has a pre-existing clause on their insurance to do some investigation about why they have it and if they can repeal it. The previous company would not send you a certificate unless you called and specifically asked for it, which I had to do. This makes me feel so much better and makes me feel like this is exactly what God wants for me.
