Does anyone know what needs to be said in order to have insurance approve this procedure? I have done 5 appeals with Guardian/PHCS and still no success. Any suggestions?

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but it sounds to me like you need to be thinking about self pay. I myself, have been denied by my Ins for plastics, and am looking into my options... Cathy Martin

this may sound crazy - but my insurance has stated that as long as it's "reconstructive" surgery (not cosmetic) that it would be covered under our policy. I think a lot of it has to do with the policy your company purchases.... Good luck with it!

I have bcbs, and I know that they will cover the plastic surgery as long as your doctors say that it is Medically needed. Like Ive not even had surgery yet, I go on friday, but I already have really bad rashes and bumps that are under my boobs, due to the weight of them and them hanging down. My belly hangs over my pubic hair line and I had a c-section years ago and there for the scar tissue and the rashes and bumps that are there cause infections and stuff, So Im sure after I lose alot of weight it will cause alot more skin to hang and cause my problems to get worse, and there for I hope that insurance will cover it. I have alot of help from my PCP who is keeping track of the infections and meds that we are trying to use to clear up the problems , that is what insurance told me I had to show was 3 months of no sucess in clearing up the problems. jen...
