GASTRIC FISTULA

DOES ANYONE EVERY HAD ONE AND WHAT DID THEY DO FOR YOU

My hubby had an intestinal fistula. It started with diverticulitis and developed into a fistula over four years. We think the third colonoscopy caused a tear that led to the new channel or connection (fistula). Gregg finally had colon re-section surgery during the summer of 2003. He was in the hospital for about two weeks and back again another time (from infection), but has completely recovered now. The fistula for him was a blessing in disguise, because the surgery was the catalyst to his healing. He was on Cipro and pain meds almost continuously during the four years! Of course, he never missed work! After the doc opened him up, he didn't know how Gregg had been able to stand up. I think the treatments vary. Do you have this? What is your proposed treatment?
