Question about vitamins
I had run out of my vitamins that I got from my doctor and went to GNC to find one that I was informed that might be comparable.
I found out that they are a "Timed released" vitamin and will stay in your system until absorbed. Well - they didn't agree with me..........AT ALL. I seriously thought I was going to pass out from the cramping in my stomach.
Has anyone ever taken the Women's Ultra Mega from GNC and had no problems with them? It kills me that I can't take these....they were a bottle of 240 pills for $29.99. What a value!
Any suggestions for a GOOD inexpensive vitamin? The one's at my doctor was 60 pills for $25.00.

Hi Dee Dee,
I have always used Shaklee vitamins and the link for them is...
http://shaklee.net/janegallo.
DO NOT forget to add the www. in front of the word shaklee. If You can not access the site shoot me an e-mail and I will send you her actual link. Shaklee's vitamins that I would recommend would be the Basics with Energizing Protein and the calcium/magnesium. When you order the basics the extra iron is FREE. I have been taking Shaklee for over ten years and none of my hair has fallen out and the vitamins DO NOT get stuck in our new stomas. All of these vitamins at first would be about 80 bucks but, then the calcium is not a product that you will buy but every two or three months. I DO NOT sell them this is a ladys site and she is a wonderful person and she also lives in Peachtree City. The basics with protein alone without the calcium is around 68 bucks.
Let me know if I can be of any help to you at all.

Hi Dee Dee,
I know it has been awhile since you posted this, but Flintstone chewable w/iron is what my surgeon has told us to take. I have been taking them for 4 years and all my labs come back fine. The are also inexpensive.
I don't know if you know this but do not take your multi vitamin with coffee or anything with caffine. Wait 2 hours after drinking anything with caffine. You should not take it with your calcium pill either. Wait 2 hours. This way you get the most out of the iron possible.
I take my caltrait (calcium chewable pill) when I get up then have my coffee. Wait 2 hours and take my flintstone with iron with my vitamin C (which boost the iron). Then in the afternoon I take my caltrait again. Then before I go to bed I take my flintstone again with my vitamine C. Not only do I get the most out of my vitamins. I have not been sick in a long time.
It is also very important that you do a B-12 supplement. ASBS has done many studies on this and if you recall what the nutitionist said at the Obesityhelp.com meeting, if we do not take our vitamin suppliments we are setting ourselves up to be where we thought we would have been being obese and elderly.
good luck, I hope you find something that works for you.
