I am so tired of putting out resumes for my husband! I am from Atlanta and want to go home so badly.. (my mother is very ill) My husband and I have been putting out resumes for almost a year in the Atlanta area. Why oh why do companies not even want to talk to you if you do not already live in Atlanta??? grrrrrr ~ it isn't even as if we are looking for a relocation package! We will move ourselves. I just need to go home! Can't do it without my husband having a good job there. If anyone has suggestions for places that are hiring computer programmers.. We could sure use them. Kay.. this is a bit OT, but I see the link to the job boards you posted. Is this where you work? My husband has recently submitted his resume with this company for a field tech position. Do you know if the insurance your company offers covers WLS? Thanks in advance... Melissa

Kathy, I work for Georgia Pacific and I am a programmer. Go to www.gp.com another suggestion, make sure you let whomever your husband is applying with know that he is not interested in a relocation package. My daughter just got a job in Houston Tx and she was in Atlanta and she told them that and they did hire her. She didn't get any relocation expenses, however, they paid her for 3 weeks before she started work and that helped her a lot. Denise

KAthym, you have to realize that companies get thousand of resumes. what i have found to work is keep a notebook of who you send out to, the date, wait a couple of weeks and call to ask if they received your resume. then ask when you can schdule an interview. also find out a name of who does the hiring for the position your applying for. you need a contact name. the bottom line is to try to get several interviews lines uo and physically go there. you have to remember you one in thousands moving to atlanta. But this method has always worked for me. what type of work are you looking for if i may ask? when your so far away you have to let them know your serius about relocation and might have to pay all expences yourself. also write a cover letter telling them it is imparitive you move back to atlanta as you ned to be closer to elder parents. not that you will be burdened with them just you need to be back home to help out. i move to atlanta twice form other states i am a medical professional which helps. but this has always wortked for me get a ledger keep record of when you send out resume. call ask when you cna EXPECT and interview as you will be in town these dates and have a set time tou will bethere, they want to see your serious about acutally moving. and try to have several interviews lined up for sucess. you might take a job you might not totaly wnat to get you there and then once their you can be more agressive in your search. i have never seen this fail if followed out. any help let me know. god bless joyce
