Hi Debra, It is mainly my sisters and a few friends that has so many negative things to say. I don't discuss it with them anymore. Thanks for your encouraging words. Yes you are right the board do have the greatest people, I have learned that all in one day of posting this. Thanks Denise

First of all, welcome to the Georgia Board. I guess my negative feedback came after surgery so I was very lucky. As far as the pain, I hurt like "h_ _ _ _!" right after surgery but they give you good drugs. Before you leave the hospital, it will be much, much better. You go home with pain killers. Just a reminder, everyone is different. I personally experienced more nausea than I cared to deal with in the first 4 weeks. It was like morning sickness. The smell of coffee and other foods were almost unbearable. You might want to prepare yourself for some changes. It may not be a change for you but it may be a major change on the other hand. Just be prepared to deal with it either way. You have to make the decision to go through this whether any one supports you or not. But I think you'll find that you have more support than you realize. They may be scared for you but they won't abandon you. It sounds like you've already made the decision to go through with the surgery so stick to your guns. You'll do fine. It was worth it for me and I know it is worth it for most of us that have gone through the surgery. Hang in there! Post your questions and we'll be glad to answer them from our perspective. Deneise,\ it is hard not to have your fammilys support. but you have to tell them it is your decision and you need to do this for yourself and you can just agree to disagree! aS FORTHE PAIN BE HONEST WITH YOUR DOCTOR AND TELL HIM YOUR CONCERNS. USUALLY IN THE HOSPITAL YOU WILL HAVE A MORPHINE PCA PUMP WITH A BUTTON SO YOU CAN GIVE YOURSELF A LITTLE USUALLY EVERY 10-15 MINUTEWS , IT HAS A LOCK OUTSO YOU CANT GIVE YOURSELF TO MUCH. THE FIRST DAY WOLL BE THE WORST AS THE MERVE ENDINGS ALL SETTLEDOWN SND THE MEDICATION CATCHES UP WITH YOU PAIN LEVEL NEED. ALSO THEY CAN GIVE YOU SOMETHING FOR SLEEP WHICH HELPS AS WE.. THE FIRST DAY YOU WILL SLEEP A LOT ANYWAY DUE TO ANESTESIA. I AM PRE OP AS WELL BUT HAD SEVERAL SURGERIES AND WORK IN A HOSPITAL. JUST THINK POSITIVE AND THINGS WILL BE FINE! joyce
