Brainstorm for liquid diet ideas?
Hi all, I am now 4 days post op and am having real issues. Not thinking about the fact that I love (I mean LOVE) salty foods, all I have in my house to eat is Jell-O pudding and gelatin, my protein shake, and decaf unsweet tea. The broth is just horrible tasting to me & creamy soups scare me (the consistency makes me gag). I thought of a couple ideas (cooked ramen noodle soup with the noodles removed - I like that flavor - and egg drop soup from a local chinese place), but I have to be on this until next Thursday - at least!
Any ideas from you wonderful, smart, ladies and gentlemen? I know my protein shake is my main source of nutrition, but what can I have other times?

Take some different fruit juices and freeze them in an ice cube tray. Cover the tray with plastic wrap and stick toothpicks through the plastic. You'll have homemade popsicles.
I was never so happy as when I ate my first bit of tomato soup after surgery. I mixed it with milk and added some parmesian cheese for extra protein....SO YUMMY!!!!!
How about Crystal Light drinks, flavored waters (Propel and Fruit20). I also got Campbell's vegetable soups and strained out the broth. Be careful of chinese food as it may contain MSG (Monosodium Glutamate) which can really bother new pouches. I ate a lot of Campbell's Won-Ton soup (minus the won tons).

We were able to have full liquids after a few days out so I endulged in runny mashed potatoes with a little bit of gravy, s/f pudding w/ lite whipped cream added(it tastes like moussee and is heaven!), egg drop soup was wonderful!, refried beans(add water to make them thinner) w/ a little cheese and salsa, s/f popcicles, s/f blue bunny fudge pops and creamcicles, cream of wheat w/ a little powdered milk, splenda and "I can't believe it's not butter.
These foods saved my sanity Hope they do you too
