Good news

I got a call from a representative from BCBS today. She was wonderful. She told me that my surgery would be covered by our policy until August 1, 2005...which is wonderful. I also asked her about the pre-requesites. She told me all I had to have for them was a thyroid profile, psych evaluation, and documented trying of weight loss. She said there might be some other things but this was the main thing. She also stated that it doesnt take too long to process especially since they are dropping alot of policies and that 2 associates she worked with had just had the surgery paid for by BCBS. This is a positive thing for me...hope everything else is this good. D'Lynn

Hey D'Lynn, I have BCBS also and that's all I had to turn in my doctor's office sent my info to them on the 4th(just found that out today) but that's another story. So I will be believing for both of us that all goes well. Michelle

Hey D'Lynn! Oh--good news for you!!! I hope my news is as good, too. I got my paperwork from Dr. Hart's office today-did you get yours yet? I am going to work this week on it-especially getting the weight loss history as exact as I can. This is hard--cuz I've dieted my whole life! ha! I'm looking forward to "our" appt on the 17th! Hey Girl, No I havent gotten my packet yet, but you are closer to them than I am, so the mail i slower down in south Ga. I should get it one day this week I hope. I did get a letter from my PCP for medical necessity so hopefully that will help. I also requested records from another dr I was using for weight loss and will get them on Wed afternoon, so that will also help with the weight loss part. In my PCP letter, she documented the last 6mth of diet and minimal exercise that I have had to try to lose weight as well, so that will help, as well as my strong family history of co-morbidities of high blood pressure, diabetes, and cancer. I cant wait until next week and see what else I need to complete. I know I have to have a thyroid panel and psych eval, and my PCP is going to take care of the thyroid panel. Hoping Dr Hart will refer for the psych eval because we dont have anyone good in my town. Cant wait to meet you. D'Lynn
