Sorta Nosey Question?

I'm sorry if this offends anyone, it's definitely not my intention to do that. I'm just researching alternatives. I've seen where many people got medicaid to pay for WLS. My question is this, for anyone who has done that, how did you get your medicaid coverage? I was under the assumption that in Georgia you had to be pregnant or have an income of less than nothing to recieve medicaid. I'm sure I'm wrong on some level, and as I said, not meaning to be offensive, I'm just not informed and would like to be. My husband and I are far from wealthy, but we make well over the $500 a month the website says we have to make for a family of our size to qualify. Please feel free to email me if you'd rather not post publicly. I'm just trying to explore all avenue to try and prolong my life. Thanks for your help Melissa

That is a good question. I have wondered that myself. I had insurance so I didn't have to worry about that. I hope you get the help you need so you can prolong your life. We all need that. If you need anything, just yell. Good luck and my prayers are with you. Hugs, Debra =^..^=

I am also disabled due to my diabetes. I have medicare too, but I also qualify for a qmb medicaid that kicks in where my medicare leaves off. I hope this helps some. Tonya Waters

Thank you guys for the info. I didn't think about disability. For some reason I was thinking it was entirely different type of insurance. Thank you for clearing it up for me. I guess I am blessed not to be to that stage yet. I know if these insurance companies don't get their hineys in gear, I'll be there eventually though. My knees are already going on me and I'm just 32. But thankfully I'm not too horribly bad off otherwise... yet. Thanks again, Melissa
