Opinions on Dr. D. Maynard Conyers GA, for OPEN DS?

I am in Atlanta GA. I have Humana HMO and had planned on going to DR. Dennis Smith for a LAP DS. Once I had Ins. again, Dr. Smith no longer participates with HMO's I was able to find Dr. Donald Maynard in Conyers GA. that does the DS but only as an OPEN procedure. is there ANYONE ELSE OUT THERE THAT HAS HAD SURGERY by him. First appt. went well enough. I know he came here from Nebraska, but I am not finding him listed here on OH and I don't know where else to look. I really want the DS, I REALLLY wanted it done lap but Dr. Maynard doesn't do it that way. I am SOOOoooo tired of being so big and want to get this surgery done. it looks like May would be about the time I could get surgery done with Doc's 90 process. just still not able to find info on him.. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED... Thanks Ya'll

Hi Eric, My doctor was Dr Kermie Robinson. I had my surgery on September 22, 2004. My surgery was open and I was fine. Dr Maynard assisted my doctor on my surgery. I never met Dr Maynard until after my surgery, but I must say I was truely impressed. He just assisted my doctor but I saw him more than I saw my doctor after my surgery in the hospital. It seemed like I saw him about 3 times a day. He just came to check on me and make sure I was ok. That meant alot to me due to the fact he was not my surgeon, he just assisted. But I have had a really great results.

Thank you for your replies.... do you know if he was training when he was assisting? I believe he will do a good job for me, I have already had an appt with him and was just looking to find out more about him...I know he will be having a support group meeting soon and am looking forward to that.
