A Decision...

Thanks for everyone's input. I have made a decision to get 2 tattoos. After thinking about it ALL day, I have decided to get images of 2 things that symbolize the new me. One will be placed on the base of my neck and the other will be placed on my outer upper left thigh. The one on my thigh will have 92104 written underneath in a scroll. That's the date of my surgery. I am now looking for reputable artists to sculpt them. Whether you love them or hate them, thanks again for your input.

I have been trying to think of something to symbolize my rebirth as well, (I have one tat on my ankle) but I don't want a phoenix or a butterfly... i like the idea of the date...I'm still thinking about what I am going to do... A year ago August, I got my 1st tattoo. When I was telling my mom about it, she said she'd disown me if I ever got one. So to say the least, I still haven't told her. You know it is a shame to be 42 yrs old, and still hiding stuff from your mom. But I do it out of respect for her, and I got it out of respect for myself. I kinda figure I'm old enough to make my own decisions, even if it differs from the views of everyone else. My 1st one I got is on my lower back, and is 3 small very colorful flowers. My 2nd one I got a month later is a small heart with a banner on it. On the banner is the names of my 2 sons. The only 2 (little) men who I know will always be in my life. This one is on my left (ahemmmm) chest. Now they are always in my heart. I love them both, and I love the fact that they are both hidden for my enjoyment only, unless I choose to allow someone else to see them. Now once I get this weight off, I don't think I'll get another tattoo, but instead I want to get my belly button peirced. I hear it hurts like the dickens, worse than the tattoo, but I want it when I get thin.

I want another one. My problem is I'm afraid of getting it somewhere that I will wind up havong skin removed and it'll become disfigured. I have 5 tats already that I will SHOOT the doctor if her meeses up the one on my lower back as it is a tribute to my late mother! I've heart tat's hurt worse after surgery - mostly because we don't have as much fat to help with the sting!.......but I'm gonna get one or two more once I'm done with everything! I seriously want a belly button tatoo once I have all the skin done! Take pics once you get it done - I'd love to see it!

Congrats on your decision....I'm currently thinking about tattoo number three but want to wait a while because the one I want would be a full back tattoo (lower back, spine area, across shoulder blades) and I know additional weight lose will affect that area. There are some great studios in town if you want a recommendation.... Kelle
