I'm so mad. I call Aenta to find out if they had decieded anything and guess what they denied me by reason of not medically necessary. I don't know if I will fight this becauseI feel like my hands are tied. what more can I do?? Well I don't see a reason to hang around here. So happy life to you all. Dawn

Dawn, I am sorry that you got denied. I will tell you that being on the losing side of life is the best place. I wish I could tell you all the right things to do to get a speedy approval. People that give up and walk away are reasons that others get denied. Insurance hopes all people will do that. This is definetly worth fighting for. God Bless, Sheila

Hi Dawn .. Thought you should see this post from 11:20 AM today ... Maybe you should talk to Bonnie before giving up. ******************************************** APPROVED!!! but freaking out! Original Post by Bonnie Graham at 11:20 AM EST on 12/22/2004 This thread has been viewed 58 times Atlanta, GA Hello. I just got a call from Aetna and they approved me after my appeal! I have so many emotions right now. I am excited but scared at the same time. I mean I am all over the place with "I want to do it" and "should I do it". I feel like I am going nuts. Is this normal? Did anyone else kind of freak out when it became a real option??

Oh, Dawn!!! My heart is broken for you! During my prayer time this morning, I kept coming across mountains and valleys. I HATE valleys, but I am thankful for them too. In the valleys, we grow the most! I wanted this surgery so much. I was ready to have it in January, but the Lord said June! I can tell you I pitched many a hissy fit, but in His wisdom and my hindsight, June was the better date. I know you belong to our Saviour. He's growing you, girlfriend! For some reason, this isn't your time, but I do believe that it will come. In Psalms, He promises to give us the desires of our hearts if we are in His will. If my desires are not His, I ask Him to change them. If He doesn't, then I know it will happen...in His time. If you don't hang around, please know that the Lord placed a big love for you in my heart, and it's still there. You are greatly loved, sweet sister, by our Heavenly Father and by me! I'm praying for you! ((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))) Becky

Don't give up yet. After I was denied, I sat down and wrote a personal letter of appeal explaining WHY I wanted and NEEDED the surgery. I wrote it from my heart and I really believe that is what helped me get approved on my appeal. I faxed the letter directly to the insurance myself. Explain to them why you need this approved. I even put in mine that it would save them money in the long run. Don't give up...appeal it, then appeal it again if you have to. I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers...if you need me, e-mail me and I will give you my number.

Dawn, I'm sorry to hear about the denial, but don't let them win so easy. I,too was denied initially, but after first level appeal, was approved. The insurance companies want people to give up and not fight them. Hope this encourages you some. Take care. James

HELLO DAWN. DO NOT GIVE UP. YOU ARE WORTH FIGHTING FOR. UNTIE YOUR HANDS WITH YOUR MIND AND WRITE YOUR LETTER AS TO WHY YOU NEED THIS SURGERY. THEY CAN NOT FEEL WHAT YOU FEEL UNTIL YOU LET THEM KNOW. THEY TAKE YOUR MONEY EVERY MONTH FOR YOUR INSURANCE AND NOW THAT YOU NEED IT, YOUR DENIED. I DO NOT THINK SO. YOU NEED TO FIGHT. IF THEY ARE BOLD ENOUGH TO TELL YOU NO, THEN YOU NEED TO BE BOLD ENOUGH TO FIGHT AGANIST THEIR DECISION!!!!!! I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO HEARING,"I AM APPROVED," FROM YOU. I KNOW THAT YOUR A FIGHTER, SO NOW ITS TIME TO STEP UP TO THE PLATE AND WORK IT OUT.HAPPY HOLIDAYS AND GOD BLESS YOU. RUTH B.
