Truffle Terror

Okay, Ya'll!!! I have to confess. Look at what you've started, Tami Girl! My hubby brought home SIX boxes of chocolates. This is the good stuff, people...Godiva, Schakolad, Belgium chocolates, etc. My kiddos knew better since they completely realize that their teacher is a chocoholic!!! Kindergartners and their parents are wise to giving sugar to hyper people. SOS!!! One...or two truffles do NOT make me dump!!! Chicken makes me dump, but NOT chocolate. Where's the justice?!? NO one forced me to try, but I heard them calling my name. Could it be...satan? I have even OFFERED them to my son's friends who eat like wild animals, and there's still left-overs. Would I be unreasonable to throw out the rest? People spent their hard earned money on these presents, but I can't give half boxes to others. I need some tough love, Friends...but still not tough enough to confess on the main board!!! Please pray that I will now focus on cleaning my house for the 25 guests who are coming Friday!!! This is heavy-duty cleaning time...the chores I do about every two years. The computer is a great distraction, and I love you guys!!! Back to work I go!!! Boy, I would rather be at school! Hugs, Becky

Hey Becky, I am glad it is you and not me. lol I have been wanting some chocolate for so long but am chicken to try it. I have been thinking of changing my name if it keeps calling me. What you could do is put it out for all the people coming tomorrow. they can snack on it. Or take two or three and wrap them as presents for some of your favorites to take home. I wish you joy and much happiness this Christmas. If you need me yell, but not for the chocolates! Hgs, Debra =^..^=

Girl, do I feel your pain on this one! My roommate was given a huge box of gourmet chocolates by his boss at work and of course he brought them home. They are truffles as well, but all different flavors like Mississippi Mud, Expresso, Peaches and Cream, etx. Well, I have been eating two a day for the last 3 days. I'm the same as you, I can eat two at a time without dumping, but most meat makes me run for the border immediately, if you know what I mean. I have been eyeing that box like it's a mortal enemy. And of course the roomie left for south GA today for the family Christmas and didn't take them with him. I can't exactly throw them out since they're not mine, but now I have 3 days of staring them in the face! It's not easy at the holidays is it? Best of luck to you and no, I don't think there's anything wrong with throwing them out. You've appreciated them, but it doesn't mean you have to appreciate every last bite! Kelle

Kelle, No, you probably can't throw them away, but why not put them in the freezer? You'd have to be really desperate to eat a frozen truffle.

Take all the leftover pieces and put them together on a plate/platter for your company. But no more for you! You can overcome this!

Take all the candy, put them a freezer bag in put them in the back of the freezer. When you have a craving, you know where to go to. Have a safe, happy Merry Christmas Mary Rafeedie
