Good news for all BCBS pre-ops

Just wanted to share that when I got my approval yesterday I was worried that since the coverage is ending on Dec 31st and my employer decided not to keep the coverage that I would have to have the surgery by Dec 31st and THAT wasn't happening since Dr. Burrowes is all booked up BUT when I called to get my approval number I found out that they are giving approvals 90 days to have the surgery done. So I have until Feb 17th. *whew* What a relief for us. So to those of you in the process of approval with BCBS...keep pushing to get your approval before Dec. 31st. I started calling them twice a day EVERY day lol. Oh, and don't speak with Customer Service because they are clueless...speak to the pre-approval department. So , there is light at the end of the tunnel P.S. I will know my surgery date by Friday!! Monica said it will be January for sure. Will let you know. Shree

Why have they cut the time to 90 days? It's normally 1 year--the same amout of time given to any other pre-authorized medical procedure/

I was just recently approved by BCBS/GA and they gave me a one year authorization. Congratulations on getting approved!!! It will be here before you know it.! Kelly S
