Okay, it still doesnt seem real. But as of today, I have been approved by BCBS/GA and the authorization is good for one full year. I now have to do all the pre-op testing, etc. But I am just SO RELIEVED and HAPPY to get to this step. I knew it was going to be a good day this morning when I got my mail and had received a Holiday gift in the mail from my secret pal-it was the sweetest, softest lil stuffed Angel Bear. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Thanks to everyone who has said prayers and listened when I needed it. This is a great bunch of people on this board. Kelly S

Hi Kelly, Just wanted to say congratulation! Dr. C Daniel Smith was my doctor too! HE is a great surgeon and he saved my life. I had major complications and had to have the surgery redone within 24 hours of the original surgery! You need to be aware that Emory is a teaching hospital and you may very well have students doing your surgery. Although they tell you that Dr Smith will supervise their actions BEWARE! I was told the same thing and ended up with a second surgery and 3 days on a ventilator. Good LUck, Ken
