Let's get physical!
I'm new to this chatline and glad to be here! Had my RNY with Dr. Champion on 2/13/03 and have gone from a 3X to a misses size 10!
After a lifetime of dieting (my earliest memories are from pre-school!), I realize that the reason I haven't yoyo'd or sabotaged myself this time around is Dr. C's emphasis on not only cardio exercise but weightlifting. At my 3-week post-op checkup, I was told to begin a program of weightlifting and went to the LA FITNESS in Roswell the next day & signed up for 3x weekly personal trainer sessions & I've been going ever since. The effect all this paying attention to my body has had on me psychologically has been awesome. For the first time in my life I am truly enjoying living IN my body and I stay in my body most of each day. That's a far cry from where I used to live - in my mind, emotions, daydreams. A photo of me would stun me because I was shocked to see what my body actually looked like.
This has contributed to my decision to become a PERSONAL COACH specializing in supporting people who want to transform their relationship with their body as health. If you want more info on what my coaching can do for you, email me!
I look forward to meeting many of you at the Jan. 15th EVENT IN ATLANTA.

Dear Tiffany,
A belated "Thank you!" for your kind words. I just went to your profile & my heart goes out to you. Have you scheduled a consult yet? Do you have a surgeon in mind? I know that Dr. JK Champion & his associate, Dr. Williams have many happy patients in south Georgia & Valdosta, specifically.
I'm reading a short but powerful book called. "TAMING YOUR GREMLIN," which my personal life coach, Nancy Allen, recommends to all the people she trains to be coaches. It is a wonderful source of HOPE and PRACTICAL PROCESSES we can use to climb out of our depression-induced prisons. I think you would find it both informative and comforting.
I am thrilled to be able to offer my skills, support and life experiences to COACH others to successfully and permanently maintain a healthy body and a healthy response to food and physical hunger.
Find that corner of your heart where hope abides and hang out there!
Blessings,
Lauralyn
