Went to the surgeon today.... After tests, etc, it is determined that its my gallbladder and t has to go ASAP. He wanted me to go in on Monday, but after the shock of it, I told him no I needed a week. Surgery is slated for 12/13...still waiting on the time. I am on pain meds and Antibiotics, with strict orders to call or go to Emergency ASAP if the pain does not stop... I also found out I have a hernia that requires repair, but he will not combine them. He said you need mesh, and that may cause infections, etc...so he wants to wait on that as well. So that is surgery # 3... I am bummed, but hopefully this will help... Anyway that is my update... Thanks all Denise

Denise, I am glad that they figured out what is hurting you. I had my gall bladder out two years ago, and I can tell you that you are going to feel soooooooooo much better when that thing comes out. It really stinks that you have to have a separate surgery for the hernia repair, but we know you surely don't want an infection! Thanks for giving us an update! Hugs, Becky

Becky, It SUCKS...but then I could have been diagnosed with terminal cancer or something. I have to look at it from that perspective. This is how I will handle it. I am just afraid of having complications like I did with the RNY. Being horrified over that is far much worse than the surgery itself. Thanks for your support! denise

Hi Denise I am so sorry that you are having such a tough time, but thank goodness they located the problem & can fix you up. A lot of post ops have problems with their gallbladder after the surgery from what I have read - some docs even go ahead & take it @ the same time of the bypass. That doesn't make it any easier for you though Try not to worry too much. You will do great. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Please keep us posted. Where are you having it done? God bless Angel

Hey Angel, I am finding that this is true. Gallbladders and WLS does not seem to go hand in hand. Anyway, I am glad they found it and can FIX IT. I have been in misery since post op! Thanks for the encouragement. Much Denise
