WHERE DID THE TIME GO??
Hard to believe, but it's been 6 months. I guess what is even harder is to realize how in 6 months my life has changed. Just 6 months ago I couldn't walk more than 5 feet without feeling weak and needing to sit down, and so out of breath I felt like I was going to have a heart attack. Walking was so hard that I had to use a wheelchair. I had high blood pressure, which is now gone! The simple things in life that people often take for granted I can now do. I enjoy being able to get in the shower, being able to sleep in my bed, fitting in chairs, buying smaller clothes. I surprise myself all the time. I think I can't fit in places and I can. It's certainly something mental, that probably even with time I won't get over seeing myself as the biggest person in the room. Thank goodness for pictures so I can see for my self just how much I've changed.
It was so exciting on Thanksgiving. Last year Kenneth had to get me my plate, this year I was able to stand up in line, and fix my own plate. I was able to help set the table. People were all happy for me and I got several compliments.
One of the more recent exciting things that happened was I saw my old boss. I thought I was about this weight the last time I worked for them 4 years ago, but when she saw me she made all over how good I look. She said she could tell I was much smaller. So I got my license out and she's right I am smaller than I was 4 years ago. I was unpacking some old clothes and some skirts my mom had made me 4 years ago are now big on me.
I've been very lucky that things have gone so well for me. There is not a day that goes by that I wouldn't do this surgery again. I know that it's prolonged my life. I was scared to have this surgery, but I took a chance and God provided a way.
I'm down 203 pounds!!
