Medicare help

Hi, I have medicare/medicaid and I need to find a surgeon that will take medicare, not such an easy task finding one. I don't care where in GA they are, I prefer the DS surgery. I hope someone might have some info on this. Thank you!

Dr Sydney Appel in Decatur GA accepts Medicare. He has 18 yrs experience performing gastric bypass. He did my open RNY on 9/30/04. He operates at Dekalb Medical Center. He has a great WLS program. There is an inital intro/overview seminar (free). Then you have to fill out an extensive questionnaire. Followed by the usual steps. He also has support group meetings lead by a psychologist. And there is a yahoo message board. //health.groups.yahoo.com/group/Appel-Steinberg_OWLS/ The only surgeon in GA that I know of that performs the DS is Dr Dennis Smith and he does not accept medicare/medicaid.

Dr Bruce Case takes medicaid I not sure about medicare.But he is a great Dr. I just love him you don't fine Dr like him anymore. Harriett
