Today I decided to try some very thin sliced turkey with some string cheese melted in the middle. Half oz. of cheese and 1 oz of turkey. I chewed very well. Is that about the right amount for now? I still don't feel the full feeling. And I have been hngry but I think it is head hunger. Breakfast was a protein shake, lunch was 1/2 cup of riccotta cheese with a little lemon and Splenda. It was good.

Hey Darla, Glad to her you are doing okay. That sounds good to me. Liek you said, chew very well, that is the main thing. You are mostly right about the head hunger. We all have it. I just find something to do and drink water or whatever when that starts. If yuo need anything, just yell. Hugs, Debra =^..^=

Hi, Debra, Thanks for responding. It seems like I should be able to eat less than I am but when I think about what I would have eaten before surgery then I don't eat hardly anything in comparison. LOL.

Darla, I experienced the same "lack of full feeling" at first. I was told that at this early stage, the nerve endings in your pouch are not healed from having been severed. Wait about 2-3 more weeks, and it will suddenly hit you .."HEY! I'm full!" Good luck! -Tami

Hi Tami, I am glad to hear that. I feel like if I can eat this much and not feel full, I feel like I could eat a whopper and be OK. LOL. Then I think about a WHOPPER and it scares me, LOL.

Darla, I went through the same thing....feeling hungry all the time and never feeling full and then about 4-5 weeks out suddenly those nerve endings healed and that all changed. Now some days I can hardly eat anything and other days I feel like I could eat a 1/2 side of beef.LOL You seem to be doing well. Do you know how big your pouch is? Mine is 4 oz, so about 2 weeks out I was eating 3-4 ozs at a time. Also, that early out I was eating 3-5 times a day. Keep up the good work! Tonya

I don't know what the size of my pouch is but I am glad to hear this is normal. Thanks.

Hey Darla!! How is it going! This is funny, I was worried about the same thing! I even called Ginny today at obesitysolutions. She said about 3 to 4 ozs to drink, like a protein shake. and the amount of solid food should be about 3 oz. like...a whole egg should be ok, if you can get it down. i tried some sliced baked chicken last night, and could only manage a couple of bites. But, i can handle refried beans and lentils, eggs, and skim milk. I am so afraid I am eating too much! I sip on the isopure during the day for protein, the orange pineapple banana is the only one I can stand. What kind of protein shake do you use? How did your post op go? I had lost 17, and now am at 21! This is so exciting!!!! Take care, Kathy

Hey Kathy!! Wow, 21 lbs, that is great!! I ate a whole egg(small) with a little cheese and 2 slises of that very thin deli turkey. But then I had a great urge to go to sleep. I like the isopure dutch chocolate. I want to try the vanilla. At my post op appt. I had only lost 12 lbs. But I bought a scale yesterday and it was crazy. In the store I weighed 299. So I couldn't wait to get home and weigh with my shoes off so. After I went to the bathroom and took my shoes off it said 301, then this morning it said 296. Who knows. I have had taco bell's beans and cheese it was great. I also got one of those little scales and my omelet today weighed 3 oz. So I guess that is OK my husband said you gonna eat all that? I said, Let's see. And I did. I cut it into little tiny bites, and chew like I had a huge bite. Gald to see you are doing great. Keep in touch. I wi**** would stop raining so I can go out and walk. I have been doing this walk away the pounds, But I feel like I do better walking for real. Not quite ready for the treadmill yet. Or maybe I should go do the treadmill. Darla
