I just wanted to give you a update on my progress. Went to see Dr. Procter Thurs.and he said that he will do my surgery(lap.) Don't know if I should have it Lap or open I have to call to make my app. for my psyc. test. I have my sleep test on the 2nd of Dec and everything is going well. I just can't wait to get everything out of the way, get a date and be on the loosing side to. Just thought I would share w/ you. Thanks W Williams

I've heard nothing but great things about Dr. Proctor. Congratulations! Keep us posted, and let us know how you are doing. I cant wait until you tell us how things look from the other side of the fence! About getting a lap or open... they both are great, make the best decision for your body. God Bless, Tiffany.

Congratualtions on everything going smoothly so far. I had my surgery open, at the same time they removed my gallbladder and repaired two hernias... If given the choice( which of course I wasn't) I would have opted for the lap. My reason for saying so is simply that the less invasive a surgery can be, the less chance for things to go wrong, not to mention that your recovery would be easier. I guess I would look at both ways, and be happy if you don't have to have open, but in case you do, be knowledgeable about what to expect. I bet that you will have a date pretty soon, and have many things to be thankful for this new year!!!!!! Take Care, Cathy Martin

Congrats!! I used Obesity Solutions (Dr. Richard) but loved them...they were all wonderful. I chose lap, but once the doc got in there, they found my liver to be too big, and had to open me...it's ok...Now that I am down 98 pounds, I just don't mind that ol' scar there. Trust me, if they feel they need to open you once they get in, they will. I wish you the best!! -Tami

Good Luck to you!! I had my surgery lap. but several members of the local support group I attend say that if to do over they would opt for lap b/c of reoccuring problems with hernias related to open. I wish you well whatever your decision. Hugs, Tonya

You're well on your way!!! Lap was a good choice for me! I think Dr. Proctor has a lot of experience doing both, so you're in good hands. Keep us posted!!! Hugs, Becky

Hey W. Williams, Glad to hear things are going so well for you. If you are in Athens you aren't far from me at all. My Dr. was Dr Proctors partner. That is a great group to be with. If you need anything, just yell. I will do what I can to help. Just let me know. Make sure to let us know when your surgery is. Hugs, Debra =^..^=
